It’s designed to keep you protected through the weather you actually face—from daily commutes to weekend travel—while staying soft, breathable, and comfortable all day long.

The fabric is rated 20K, meaning it can technically withstand up to 20,000 mm of water pressure (the same rating used in many performance shells). While it’s not built for extreme alpine conditions, it delivers all the protection most people will ever need without the stiffness or bulk of a traditional raincoat.

The Outset Soft-Shell is built to last. Its 3-layer construction uses an abrasion-resistant outer fabric with a bonded membrane and soft inner liner, giving it long-term durability for daily wear, travel, and changing weather.

To keep it performing its best, machine wash cold on a gentle cycle, hang dry, and avoid fabric softeners or bleach. Reapply a DWR spray over time to maintain its water repellency and overall performance.

We want you to love your gear. You can return or exchange any item within 30 days of purchase as long as it’s new, unused, and in original packaging with tags attached. Final-sale or clearance items are excluded.

Awesome Jacket!
Got to be honest, a little skeptical at first but glad I spent the money to purchase. Thin jacket, great feel and best for temps for mild temps. Anything colder you will need to layer but watch out as the jacket is made slim. I purchased a large and it fits really well and any thick under garments will fill out areas. Left hand pocket is where you fold jacket inside as a pillow or easy storage.
Very nice material and feel. Great overall.

First true water-resistant jacket that did it's job!
Needed a coat that could withstand the wind and light rain. This jacket more than handled a recent outdoor activity in these conditions. Loved having all of the various pockets, which is a credit to the Nomatic brand.

Good for travel
Got this for travel, and it's been a useful addition. It's lightweight and easy to wear without feeling restricted. It's worked well for me both in the East Coast and on trips to Europe. It's comfortable enough to wear all day, which is all I really needed.

Soft Shell Jacket
